Dear Homeschoolers and Parents:
As most of you know Liza Moz’
Pottery Studio works with families of homeschool students to provide the
opportunity for homeschool students to complete their Arts curriculum. Joe Hornsby, owner of Liza Moz’, would like
to explore the possibility of creating and offering the opportunity for
homeschool students to be involved in a new adventure regarding Musical Arts. Mr. Hornsby is a graduate of the University
of Georgia with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Church Music. He will be offering two
options for the Musical Arts:
1) Children’s
Choir for ages 8 years old through 11 years old;
2) Hand-bell
Choir for ages 12 years old through 16 years old (to start in September 2015).
The main objective is to teach kids how to read music
(including note recognition, counting, key signatures, time signatures and
theory). The Children’s Choir will be a
fun way for younger kids to learn the objective stated above through singing
and learning to play a recorder, while the Hand-bell Choir will be more
advanced learning to include learning how to play an instrument as a group.
The first session, which will be Children’s Choir only,
will start Wednesday, September 23, 2015. Seating
will be limited in both choirs to ensure proper instruction can be given to
each student. The Children’s Choir will
accommodate up to 25 children, while the Hand-bell Choir will accommodate up to
18 kids. The tuition cost is $160 per
child per session; each session will consist of twelve (10) weeks with the kids
performing a concert for family members on the twelfth week. Tuition will need to be paid prior to the
session start date to guarantee a spot for your child.
If you are interested in having your child participate in
one of the choirs, please contact me as soon as possible at 865-531-7329 Monday
through Thursday from 10 am to 5 pm and Fridays from 10 am to 4 pm. Dead line to register will be Wednesday, September 2, 2015. The location and all
guidelines will be sent no later than one (1) week prior to start of session.
Looking
forward to hearing from all of you.
Best
regards,
Joe
Hornsby
